Lake Tekapo

We have just had an awesome day in Lake Tekapo!  Here are some stories for you to enjoy that we have written.

Yesterday Learning Team 2 went to Lake Tekapo for the day. First we met at school until everyone was here. Then we got on the bus to Fairlie toilets for a toilet break and a play on the playground. After that we got back on the bus to Tekapo. First we went ice-skating, snow tubing then into the hot pools. We had to go on blades to ice skate. We went in a tyre to snow tube. When you snow tube you go really fast. Hard bottoms go fast and soft bottoms go slow. I liked Tekapo because it was an amazing place.

Yesterday we went to Tekapo. First we met in the classroom. Mrs Jones said on Monday that on Tuesday we have to be at school about quarter to 9. But I got there at 8. Then we got on the bus. It took a long time to get to Tekapo. When we got to Fairlie we had to go to the toilet and go on the playground. Our teachers said that we had to go back into the bus. My partner was Faith. Faith and I saw baby lambs I said ‘they are so cute’. Faith also said the same thing as me. Faith said ‘we were nearly there’. I saw cows and pigs. The cows were chewing grass and the pigs were having a nap. Then faith told me we were in Tekapo. I was so excited to go out and ice skate. First we had to eat our morning tea. My morning tea was pizza. Some people said ‘yum did your mum make it’. I said ‘yes’. When I finished eating my pizza I had to go and get ready for ice skating. When I finished putting my snow gear on, I had to get the ice skates. I got on the ice and it felt slippery. Hope and I went really fast and sometimes I fell over. I saw Mrs Jones putting her ice skating shoes on. Mrs Jones got on the ice and then she started to skate. When Mrs Jones said it was snow tubing time everyone in Room 1 got off. First we had to put the ice skating shoes away. We had to line up and put our shoes back on. On snow tubing we had to get a little seat and go on a little lift. When I got to the top I had to sit in the little seat. I said “this is awesome”. After we finished we had lunch. After that we went in the hot pools. First we had to put our togs on. The hot pools were so warm, I nearly fell asleep. In the pools we played mermaids and dogs. I got out and had a drink. Then the teacher said it was time to go. We all got changed and got our bags and lined up. We got on the bus and went home. We arrived to school we saw our parents. I want to go to Tekapo again because it was really cool and I got to go ice skating and snow tubing. I really like going to Tekapo.

Yesterday we went to Tekapo with Learning Team 2. We went ice-skating, hot pools and snow tubing. I said “This is cool!” The hot pools were very hot. The other pool was medium. We had morning tea at the ice-skating rink. For morning tea I had a brunch bar and a croissant. Then we went ice-skating. It was hard, but when it was just about time to go, I go the hang of it. After that we went snow tubing. It was awesome! I went with my Dad. After that we had lunch. For lunch I had an orange and shapes. Then we went to the hot pools. We went back to Timaru. We got back to school, I walked home. When I got home I was tired. I played on my i-pod touch and played angry birds, space x plane and I put it on the charger. It was the best!

Yesterday Learning Team 2 and 3 went to Lake Tekapo. We met at school and then we got on the bus. When we got to Tekapo we went ice skating. I only fell over once. It hurt my hands and stung. Next we went snow tubing, I had trouble getting on the escalator. My foot got stuck. It hurt. Next we went in the hot pools. Me and Catilin and Faith played mermaids. I was the baby. Then we got out and got dressed. We got on the bus. Catilin and I played planes. It was fun and interesting. It was awesome!!

Yesterday Room 1 went to Lake Tekapo. First we met at school, then we went to Lake Tekapo in the bus. We got off the bus at Farlie playground. After we went skating on the ice at Tekapo. After we went snow tubing down a hill. Then we had lunch. After we went to the pools. The pools were too hot for me. I played with Te Meihana, Audrey, Niko, Kowin, Jack Still, Peta Pari and Aiesha. We played mums and dads. Te Meihana , Niko and Audrey were the dogs. Aiesha was the mum. Kowin and Jack were the sharks and Peta, Pari and I were the babies. Audrey and Te Meihana kept drowning because they couldn’t swim. Peta, Pari and I kept swimming away because we were bad babies.

Yesterday LT2 went to Tekapo on the bus. When we got there we had morning tea on the seats. We went ice skating and I only fell over twice. Just before lunch we went snow tubing. We went as a group and I let go of Faith’s snow tube. After lunch we went swimming in the hot pools. I like going to Tekapo. After swimming we went back to school and went home. The best thing I liked was going down the hill on the snow tubes. By Riley


Yesterday Learning Team two went to Tekapo. First we got on the bus and Mrs Davidson asked us if we get car sick. If we did, we had to go to the front of the bus. Next the trip started. On the way my face went green and I had to sit at the front of the bus. Then we stopped at Fairlie for a break and got back on the bus. Next we arrived at Tekapo. First we went ice skating. Next we went snow tubing. It was awesome. Next we went in the hot pools. The trip was awesome. At first it was hard for me but I got better at it. Next we went snow tubing. It was fun. After that we went in the hot pools. The trip was incredible.

On Tuesday I went on the Tekapo trip. I saw mountains. I went ice skating and I fell over. I stood up and went on skating and April helped me. After that I went snow tubing and I went down the snow hill in the tube. I went to the hot pools and it was hot. It was fun at the Tekapo trip.

On Tuesday we went to Tekapo. In the morning we went down to the bus. After a while in Fairlie for a toilet stop. We got to go on the playground. Then we got to go on the bus. When we got there we had to eat. Then we went ice skating. Afterwards we went tubing. I liked the magic carpet. It was fun. At the top of the hill we went down the hill. Then I went down again and I went down the hill as a group. After that we went to have lunch. We went into the hot pools and Phoenix and I played a game. We were the mermaids. It was fun.

Yesterday we went to Tekapo. When we got there we had read and feed. Then we went ice-skating. It was fun. My favorite was ice-skating and the hot pools. The snow tubing was a little bit fun. After that we went back to school. We went home.

Yesterday we went to Tekapo. My favorite part was Snow tubing and the ice-skating. Mrs Jones went ice-skating. My mum went ice-skating. We also went in the hot pools. The hot pools are hot. Learning Team Two went to Tekapo. I wish we could at school. I want to go there again. I wanted to go so much I asked to go in the weekend.

On Thursday Learning Team Two went to Tekapo. We met at school. We had to wait until everybody was there. Then we went on the bus. When we got there we had morning tea. After that we went ice-skating. I slipped over two times. Then we went tubing. I got to spin I jumped out of the tube. One of them I crashed into another tube. I thought it was awesome. William and I went on by ourselves. I got a massive spin. At first I thought it would be scary, but when I tried it I liked it. I can’t believe it was so cool. Afterwards Jack and I went together. That was amazing.

Yesterday Learning Team Two went to Lake Tekapo. First we went to the bus. When we got there, we had morning tea. I had a pink bun for morning tea. Mrs Jones said we could go ice skating. Then we went snow tubing. I went with Riley and Niko and Cole. Then we had lunch we went to the swimming pool and played tag. Then we got dressed. We got back in the bus to come back to school. When we got off the bus I met mum at school. I saw a truck and trailer sinking. I saw dads house he designed. We had a toilet stop at Fairlie. It was fun because we got to go snow tubing, ice skating and got to go to the hot pools. We got to go in the two swimming pools.

On Thursday I went to Lake Tekapo. When I got there we had morning tea. After that we went ice skating. I kept slipping over. Next we went snow tubing. The lady kept spinning me around. After that we had lunch. After lunch we went swimming. There was one hot pool for the parents. Kids weren’t allowed in there. In the kids pool it was warm. After that we went back on the bus. I was tired when I got home, but it was a good day.

On Tuesday the 21st August 2012 Learning Team Two went to Alpine Springs and Reserve at Lake Tekapo. We had to get to school early so we didn’t miss the bus. First Mrs Jones had to call out names and then we got on the bus. My partner was Jack. In the bus Jack and I played paper scissors rock. When we got there we had morning tea. When we finished morning tea we went ice skating. I could jump. Me and Mrs Jones had a race, Mrs. Jones won. After ice skating we went tubing I went on there with Quinn, Riley, Niko, Jack Still, Jack M, Phoenix and I. After that we had lunch. Then we had to go to the hot pools. There was a cold hot pool and a rock pool too. My favourite one was the rock pool. In the rock pool Kowin, Jack and I played a game, we played hide and seek. I didn’t get found. After that we played tag, I was in first. Before I went in the hot pools I went in the cold pool. The cold pool had wave fountains. I didn’t like the cold pool so I went in the warm one. I liked the warm hot pool. Jack and I played hot and cold. Jack was in first, then it was time to go home. When we went out I went home in the car. I liked the day.

Yesterday we went to Lake Tekapo. When we had read and feed we sat on the seats near the ice rink. Then we put our lunch boxes away. Next we got our skates and put them on. I needed help putting them on. When I got my ice-skates on, I also put my helmet on so you don’t injure your head on the ice. Next we went snow tubing. We had a tube. It was shaped as a circle. When I first tried it, it was fun as I did a spin on the snow. When I took off my skates it was better to leave my helmet on so we didn’t hurt our heads on the snow and wouldn’t get out heads stuck in the snow. We had to hold onto the handles on the tube so we wouldn’t fall off into the snow. After lunch we went to the hot pools. The hottest one was the adult’s one. It was smoking hot. I could not believe my eyes. When we got out of the pool it was time to go home. My Papa was coming to pick me up to take me home because mums on night shift and she took the car to work. My favourite part was the hot pools.

Yesterday the whole Learning Team 2 went to Tekapo. When I got out of bed I got ready fast. Then I drove to school. We met at school. After that we got on the bus it took an hour to get there. Next we got to Fairlie playground. We had a four minute play. Some of us went to the toilet while we had a play. The bus driver went to buy a pie. After we got to Lake Tekapo we firstly had read and feed. After that we went ice skating and snow tubing. It was awesome and totally fun. I went snow tubing in a group and with Phoenix. After we had lunch we went to the hot pools. They were very hot but the hot pools were fun. After we hopped out of the pools I had to fill up my drink bottle because the water didn’t taste very nice. Next I got dressed and got my bag ready and then we went back in the bus. Some of us had to go to the toilet again. Next we arrived at school. Room 4 got off the bus first. Then Room 1 did. I got my bag and went to my mum and said “that was awesome”. Then we went to the car and went home. Mum cooked tea. We had rice and vegetables. It was yummy. After that I had a play. Then I went to bed and went to sleep.

Yesterday LT2 went to Tekapo. First we met at school. Then we went on the bus. It was a long drive. Then all of LT2 went to play on the playground and go to the toilet. After we went to Tekapo. First at Tekapo we went ice skates. Afterwards we went snow tubing. After that we went in the hotpools.
